Make Just One Better Choice for Health Daily

By making one or two better choices everyday you will slowly change the way you feel and look. Before you know it, you will be healthier, have more energy and be happier than you thought possible. We hope you come back often to learn new ways to Make Better Choices for Your Health.

Why do we wait until we suffer some devastating news from the doctor before we decide to make changes in our life style? You know what I mean. You know someone who was diagnosed with some ailment like heart disease. Suddenly they change the way they eat and add exercise to their daily routine.

When you wait until you have damaged your heart or body then try to “change” it, you are behind the proverbial 8 ball. Why not start today before you get the bad news from the doctor.

Start today…right now! Decide that you are going to make small, simple changes on a regular basis. Maybe you could park further away from your place of employment and walk just those few extra steps before and after work. Maybe you could drink one 8- ounce glass of water a day instead of reaching for another soda.

Change doesn’t happen over night. It takes time. You don’t have to decide today that you are going to run in a marathon next week and head out for a 5 mile run. Instead take baby steps.

Food for thought…don’t just look at the number of calories in a particular product you like, multiply that number by the number of times you eat/drink it in a weeks time. For example: 20-ounce sodas on average have around 300 calories. If you have just one a day, that adds up to 2100 calories a week. That is equivalent to 2/3 pound of fat.

“Oh, but I drink “diet soda” so there are no calories” you say? Well guess what, you might not get fat calories from it but you are trading it for significantly higher risk of cancer, heart disease, hypertension, the list goes on. Did you know that carbonated drinks are the number one cause of osteoporosis?

Again the point of this article is to start making small changes. Just cut back on one thing at a time or walk a few extra steps. You grab for that soda. Okay, but don’t drink all of it. Maybe just half today and throw the rest away. Grab water once in awhile instead of the soda. Suddenly it strikes you that you find yourself grabbing the water more often than you do soda.

Small steps equal BIG SUCCESS over time. Good luck on your new outlook on life through better choices for health.
